AERA 2025 in Denver

AERA in Denver – A rough conference

Though we loved meeting with colleagues sharing our work and learning from so many others, while in Denver we learned that our federal funding from the National Science Foundation was illegally revoked from us “effective immediately.” We later learned the reason given to the university was simply that the work no longer aligned with the priorities of the current administration. This was money promised to us. This was money sent to us. This was money promised by us to others such as teachers for their work. Mid-dissemination, everything had to halt, and we had to spend our precious time authoring legal documents to fight for our rights.

And we were not alone. The session we presented in as a lab was full of scholars who had just received the same news – some at the beginning of career grants, some mid-way in their implementation and learning, and others, like us, in dissemination phase.

All heart-broken, angry, and sickened.

That said, we are even more committed to doing the work!!! Below are our group’s presentations at this meeting. Please let us know if you’d like to know more!
